Wedgie Saga.

Whilst down at the Desailly Flats flying field today I spotted what looked like a Wedge-Tailed Eagle in the paddock 400 yards away, on the ground and he was being attached by a couple of Ravens and Magpies. Made my way over and got as close as I could until he decided it was time to go. A sequence of photos follows.

Raven giving him a hard time.

He is now a bit wary  as I have snuck up a bit closer.

Time to go.

Magpie seeing him off.

Then the Raven takes over again.

Another Sit.

Went over to Swallow Lagoon, and instead of doing my usual walk around I decided to sit on the bank of the water hole to the left of the gate. Sat there for 11/2 hours, which turned out to be very productive. Some shots below.

After the Heyfield Birdo's outing at McKinnon's Point last Wednesday, Julie and I decided to go up again on Sunday.
This time we decided to sit near a pool of water and wait for the birds to come in, all these photos and in the following blog were taken from the one position, except for the White Faced Heron and the Yellow-Tufted Honeyeater, which we found on the way back up the creek to the car. There are some that I need an ID.

Desailly Flats

A few photos from Desailly Flats, Sale Aero Model Club flying day. The small raptor was following some of the models and trying to dive bomb them, must have thought they were in it's territory, then the Sea Eagle came along and they had a bit of aerial warfare, then both decided to fly back towards the river. The small raptor I think is a Black Kite, shape of it's tail feathers seem to fit.
White-bellied Sea-Eagle.  (Juvenile).

Sea-eagle and Black Kite?
